Where there is pink there is a party!

So paint those walls pink. One of my favorite shades of pink is #507 chalk pink from American Traditions Signature Colors / Laura Ashley Home, available at Lowe's. This shade of pink is soft and subtle with just enough color to set the mood. Use too strong of a pink and the walls become the focus instead of the fun furniture and accessories.

If your furniture is a mix of pieces paint them all one color to create unity, and if you decide to add decorative painting to the pieces keep it to a minimum; this allows the furniture to fit into different design motifs in the future. A design solution for hardwood flooring or tile is a decorative floor-cloth; they are easy to clean and dust free for allergy sensitive children.

Use everyday fashion accessories to dress up your decor:

1. Fill a purse with silk flowers and hang it on the wall from a decorative hook.
2. Add a broach and some ribbon to a lamp shade for a dressy diva look.

4. Use a hair scrunchy for a curtain tie back.
5. Cinch a pillow with a fancy belt.
